Description

I build frame, stretch and prime canvas and just sing and fly into elusive word of light, colour rainbow and feelings. I work quickly and emotionally; usually, finding the right place, light, and state takes much longer than painting itself. North American nature, its unique unspoiled magic is my constant source of inspiration. I feel that the ancient way through nature: shapes of trees and rocks, shadows and lights - gives an excellent opportunity to express your soul. One day and place, its cheerful; another - miserable and angry, but is always glorious.

Anna was born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine, where she studied art and then worked as a fine artist, illustrator, and graphic designer for several magazines and advertising agencies. After coming to Canada in 1998, she went to Sheridan College and graduated from the Advanced Illustration program. Anna works as a free-lance illustrator. Her illustrations have appeared in MacLeans, Ocala Style, Niagara Life, and Brain, and Child magazines. She has shown her work extensively in the last two years, including the 2010 FIRE+EARTH+IMAGINATION Exhibition at the Burlington Art Centre.
