Pat Beaudoin

Pat began her volunteerism at Burlington Art Centre as a Docent and has worked in the highly successful Art Etc Gallery Shop. Pat is a past Chair of the Board for the Centre. She has taken classes in watercolours and drawing at the Centre. Pat has been on the Advisory Councils or Boards for the University of Toronto, Seneca College, McMaster University and the Conference Board of Canada. She brings 30 years of Human Resource leadership and skills from banking, insurance and retail firms.

Nancy Brewer

Nancy is a chartered accountant with her own practice located in Burlington. Ms Brewer provides a wide variety of services to her clients, including financial statements, taxation (corporate and personal), business advisory services as well as estates and trusts. Her clients, located throughout the GTA, include small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses, professionals (including medical doctors, dentists and engineers) and individuals. Nancy is a Rotarian and has served on a number of community organizations. In 2003 her contribution to her profession and the community was recognized by being named a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.

Toni Browning   

Toni has been employed with Canada Revenue Agency since 1986, specializing as a Non-Resident auditor.  Over the last 25 years Toni has been a volunteer for several other organizations including Hamilton Holland Club, Youthfest, Sound of Music  Festival,  Heritage Burlington (LACAC).  Her hobby is photography and she is a very active member of the Latow Photographers Guild.  She has been President of the Latow for 4 years out of the last 9 years.   She was also Vice-President of Arts Burlington in 2010.  Since 2001 she has volunteered over 3,000 hours at BAC.

Sandra Edrupt

Sandra has had a long career with ArcelorMittal Dofasco, and is currently responsible for Internal Communications and managing the company’s philanthropy program. Previously, she was General Manager Corporate Projects in the Quality Systems Department, responsible for leading major cross-functional projects involving significant organizational change. Prior to that, she was General Manager Marketing. She has also worked in Strategic Planning and in a variety of roles and product areas in the Sales Department. Sandra’s community work is extensive. She serves on the Board of Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, is a member of the United Way’s Citizen Investment Review Panel for Burlington, is Past President of the Greater Hamilton Wellness Foundation Board (formerly VON Hamilton Foundation), and a Board Member of the McMaster University Foundation Board. She has served in leadership roles on numerous McMaster University committees including President of both the Alumni Association and the Association of Part Time Students. She has received awards for distinguished service from both the Alumni Association and the Part Time Students Association.

Tom Evans

Tom Evans is Chief Agent & Business Leader of the Canadian Branch operations of GE Employers Reassurance Corporation, a US based reinsurer and a subsidiary of General Electric Company. As chief executive officer in Canada he is accountable to the parent company and regulatory authorities for the prudent management of the business, the security of its assets, and the adequacy of its capital to fulfill policyholder obligations.
Before joining GE he served over 3 years in the public service as General Manager – Finance & Administration for the County of Simcoe. As the County’s CFO he oversaw the finance, technology, human resources, procurement and property administration functions, and was responsible for developing and executing the County’s budget and long term strategic plan.

His earlier 30 year career in the private sector represents a broad and diverse background.  As a financial executive he spent 15 years in the life insurance and  reinsurance industry, 5 years with New York Life and then over 10 years as CFO of Revios Reinsurance. Earlier in his career he was the CFO of a private hotel management company, Chief Accountant of the Mercantile Bank of Canada, and a corporate tax specialist for over 12 years with major companies in the transportation, manufacturing, mining and financial services industries.  Tom graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, is a Certified Management Accountant, and a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Tom has served on corporate and not-for-profit boards, including Chair of FEI Canada (2005-06), and is currently a director of the Southern Golden Horseshoe Chapter of Financial Executives International Canada and a trustee of the Canadian Financial Executives Research Foundation.

Martin McInally

Martin McInally is Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, with the communications consulting firm Maverick Inc. Mr. McInally has extensive national and international experience across all aspects of private and public sector communications. He is an expert in developing strategic communications concepts and translating them into deliverable initiatives. He is a trusted advisor to global business leaders on critical issues occurring in complex and dynamic environments.  Prior to joining Maverick, Martin spent five years in Switzerland as a senior communications executive at two of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies - Roche and Novartis. A highlight of his European experience was his unique positioning as a core member of the marketing group that conducted the world-wide launch of two of the world's most novel oncology treatments.

Martin has also developed critical partnership initiatives with global advocacy organizations to raise disease and treatment awareness among key stakeholders. He is the past National Director of Marketing and Communications for the Canadian Diabetes Association.  He has also worked extensively in government relations - both from the agency side and also from the inside working directly with the Ontario Solicitor General as his Communications and Media Relations Special Advisor.  Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Western Literature and Classical Studies from the University of Western Ontario.

Anne Swarbrick

Anne is Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Halton. Organizations she has previously headed include the Toronto Community Foundation, the Canadian AIDS Treatment Information Exchange, and the CNIB’s Toronto Operations. She was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1990 to 1995, serving first as Minister of Women's Issues, then as Minister of Culture, Tourism and Recreation. In 2009/10 she served on the Board of Trustees of the Burlington Art Centre Foundation, and is a member of the Advisory Board to the Nonprofit Management and Leadership Programme at the Schulich School of Business. She is a graduate of the Directors Education Program, Institute of Corporate Directors. Previous Board positions have included: Women’s College Hospital, Family Service Association of Toronto, Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, and the Yellow Brick House Shelter for Battered Women. As an alumna of Schulich, in 2000, she was awarded Schulich’s Outstanding Public Contribution Award.

John Taylor

John is the Burlington City Council representative on the Burlington Art Centre Board. He has represented Ward 3 since 1988 and entered his eighth term in December 2010. Prior to his career in politics he gained extensive diversified management experience in both the packaged consumer goods and pharmaceutical industries. He also holds an Honours degree in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia. Previous community service positions have included the Burlington Public Library Board, Halton Regional Police Service Board and the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Board of Governors. John was also the Founding Chairman of the Credit River Division of the Industrial Accident Prevention Association of Ontario.

Peter Young

Peter is a retired R.C.M.P. Officer who spent 30 years in the policing environment. His service included areas of administration, finance, record-keeping systems as well as training. He was responsible for providing administrative support for up to 330 members and civil servants. As well as a seasoned administrator, he is skilled in the areas of security, risk management and general Police enforcement duties. His last posting within the R.C.M.P. was in the area of personal security of dignitaries and terrorist threats. Peter has been an avid photographer for most of his life. Peter is a member of the Latow Photographic Guild, and has served as an Arts Burlington President, and President of Latow. In recognition of his volunteerism at the Centre, Peter was awarded with a Gold Award and is working on his 3000 hour volunteer pin. He has received a certificate from the Province for volunteering, received an honourable mention during the BAC's 30 Anniversary Pearl Awards and in 2009 received the Champion Award from the BAC.
