The Burlington Art Centre is the champion of visual art and fine craft in Burlington. Home to seven fine art and fine craft guilds, we provide opportunities for discovery and hands-on learning in the arts. Volunteers are an important asset to our organization. Many opportunities are available for any time commitment a volunteer wishes to give. Think of the advantages!

Volunteer Opportunities
The Art Etc Gallery Shop is a great place to volunteer if you enjoy working with the public in a creative atmosphere. Volunteers assist customers in selecting their purchases from high quality Canadian artworks, facilitate computerized sales, maintain displays, and receive inventory. Training is provided and a long-term commitment is required.
Docents conduct tours of the BAC for school classes, kids’ clubs, families, and adult groups. Tours range from 30 to 45 minutes and are geared to the age of the group. Training is provided and a long-term commitment is required.
Gallery Attendants are one of the first contacts the public encounters while visiting the AIC Gallery. Volunteers distribute information and answer questions pertaining to the exhibitions. Training is provided and a long-term commitment is required.
Assistant Instructors help with the set-up, instruction, and clean-up of studio program classes. Weekly time commitment is required for the duration of the studio program.
Gardeners take care of our Conservatory year round, and our courtyard and flowerbeds seasonally.Volunteers work in teams. Seasonal time commitment required.
Special Events are run by the BAC Foundation throughout the year. Volunteer roles are many and varied, including serving food, taking tickets, directing traffic, and providing information to visitors. Time commitment depends on the role and event.
