BAC Exhibition Program Philosophy

The BAC's contemporary visual art program is collaboratively developed and delivered by a Program Team that is led by George Wale, M.Ed., Director of Programs and includes the Curator of the Collection, Jonathan Smith, M.F.A.; Matt England M.Ed., Curator of Education and Preparator, David Popplow.

Curatorial objectives are achieved through a series of exhibitions over a number of years rather than any in one fiscal period.

Our visual arts program has three areas of focus:

  • contemporary Canadian ceramic art
  • contemporary visual artists in the region
  • seven resident art and craft guilds

The Burlington Art Centre pays artist fees in accordance with the CARFAC Exhibition Fee Schedule. Please note, dates and content subject to change without notice, contact the Director of Programs to confirm information.
